Commitment to Conservation: My Ongoing Support for 1% for the Planet

In the captivating world of film, we are constantly reminded of the vast, rich beauty that surrounds us. From the expansive landscapes to the intricate details of wildlife, the work of a filmmaker, particularly my work, often revolves around capturing these mesmerizing moments. But as someone whose career involves harnessing the grandeur of our environment, I believe we have an inherent responsibility to safeguard it too.

This is why I've made the commitment to support environmental causes in a very tangible way, by pledging to contribute 1% of my annual revenue to environmental nonprofits through an organization called 1% for the Planet. This global network focuses on protecting the earth by channeling resources from businesses and individuals to highly vetted, environmental nonprofit organizations.

I'm proud to announce that I am continuing this commitment for another year. By doing so, I'm joining a community of like-minded individuals and businesses who understand our collective obligation to protect and nurture the world we live in.

The beauty of this initiative is that it involves no extra cost to my clients. Instead, it's a personal commitment I make, viewing it as a sort of 'tax' for the privilege of utilizing the world's beauty in my work. By setting aside 1% of my revenue, I am effectively acknowledging the resource that provides not just the canvas for my work, but also the inspiration.

Filmmaking takes me to some incredible places, offering a window to the spectacular scenes nature bestows upon us. But I'm acutely aware that these scenes, this world, is under threat. Through my pledge to 1% for the Planet, I am turning that awareness into action, contributing to the preservation of the places and wildlife that fuel my creativity and inspire audiences.

I share this not to self-congratulate but to hopefully inspire a conversation about our individual and collective responsibilities to our planet. As a community of creatives, imagine the impact we could have if more of us turned our gratitude into giving.

I look forward to another year of capturing the beauty of our world through my lens and doing my part to ensure that it remains for generations to come.
