Earth, Sea & Sky
Branded Documentary for Fujifilm

At the wild edges of earth, sea and sky — following Rebecca Douglas as she responds to each environment through a different lens.
Approach: Observational / Character-led
Type: Branded Documentary
A branded documentary
exploring the process behind the image.
Earth, Sea and Sky is a branded documentary film created for Fujifilm, following photographer Rebecca Douglas as she works across the dramatic landscapes of Iceland.
Filmed over three days in constantly shifting conditions, the project was built around a reactive, observational approach that allowed the environment and Rebecca’s process to shape the story in real time. Rather than relying on structured interviews, the film captures genuine moments as they unfold — focusing on instinct, patience, and a deep connection to the landscape.
Shot handheld on the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 and designed to feel intimate and immersive, the film explores how lenses become more than just tools — shaping the way a story is seen, framed, and experienced.
The result is a tactile, emotive piece that reflects both the unpredictability of Iceland and the quiet discipline behind capturing those moments — an approach rooted in presence, observation, and storytelling.

As a self-shooting director, my work is rooted in observation — staying lightweight and responsive, allowing real moments to unfold naturally. Working closely with both contributor and environment, the focus is on presence, authenticity, and building the story from what reveals itself in front of the camera.
Filmed in constantly shifting conditions, the process relies on adapting to weather, light, and location in real time. Staying close to the moment allows for a consistent visual language, while the unpredictability of the environment actively shapes the narrative.
This project sits within a broader focus on branded documentary filmmaking — creating observational, character-led films that prioritise authenticity and real moments over scripted narratives. The intention is to capture something honest, allowing story and subject to lead.
This is the work I focus on — branded documentary films that prioritise authenticity, character, and real moments over constructed narratives.
